During an otherwise very dark season, Oklahoma picked up -- perhaps -- its most important victory Thursday.
Norman North point guard Trae Young, a five-star prospect, announced he will stay home, committing to play for the Sooners for the 2017-18 season.
Young is rated as the best player in Oklahoma and the third-best point guard in the country, according to 247Sports. With the departure of senior Jordan Woodard, who started for four years at OU's point, Young will fill a very serious need on coach Lon Kruger's squad.
Young chose between Oklahoma, Kansas and Oklahoma State in a press conference at his high school Thursday.
