Oklahoma has seen 22 head football coaches since 1895, but only a few stand out.
Three coaches -- Bob Stoops, Barry Switzer and Bud Wilkinson -- took home national titles during their long tenures, while others -- like Howard Schnellenberger and the program's first coach, Jack Harts -- last just one season with poor results.
While the top three may seem like no-brainers, let's take a look at the five best coaches in Oklahoma history.
5. Chuck Fairbanks (1967-72)
Record: 52-15-1
Accolades: Big Eight champions (1967-68, 1972), Sporting News coach of the year (1971)
Following the sudden death of coach Jim Mackenzie following his first season, Fairbanks was promoted to the head job at 33 years old, becoming the second-youngest coach in program history.
