February 17: Norman North prep star Trae Young announced that he would be staying home to play college basketball, picking the Sooners. Before Big 12 play even began, Young had tied an NCAA record for assists in a game with 22.
March 19: Oklahoma State men's basketball coach Brad Underwood bolted for Illinois after one season in Stillwater. The news stole the spotlight off OSU wrestler Dean Heil winning his second consecutive NCAA championship.
