1. He got his nickname from a sitcom. Hield's actual first name is Chavano. But his mother was a big fan of Fox sitcom "Married...With Children" and she and a friend decided he looked like the character Bud Bundy and began calling him "Bud." But when a drug dealer with the same name in the neighborhood died, she decided to start calling him "Buddy."
2. His mother's reputation shielded him from a rough environment in his native Bahamas.
