The Oklahoma Sooners already boast one of the top recruiting classes in the country, but they're far from done, making a strong push during the last month of recruiting as we heads towards National Signing Day on February 3. Here's all the latest news and rumors you need to know:
Three-star linebacker expressing interest in Oklahoma
Oklahoma offered a scholarship to three-star LB Jonathan Jones (Orlando, FL) in the fall, and they're rising quickly up his interest list after their successful season.
“OU had a great season and a lot of their linebackers have graduated so it could be a great opportunity for me,” said Jones, via 247sports. “I am an inside backer and OU needs some help in that area. Everybody is telling me that I will play the WILL, but OU is talking to me about that middle linebacker spot.
“I have talked to Coach (Tim) Kish a couple of times and he says he should be down here sometimes in January. They have told me about Dominique Alexander leaving early to go pro and early in the recruiting process I was interested in the program and learned a lot about them. I like the progress they have made both on and off the field and they are a great program and I know they have a lot to offer.”
Jones is ranked as the No. 33 outside linebacker and No. 433 prospect in the country.
Three-star linebacker to visit Sooners
Three-star LB Elysee Mbem-Bosse (Ellenwood, GA) took an earlier visit to Oklahoma on Nov. 20, but he is planning on making another visit to Norman this month.
“Oklahoma is an amazing place with a great atmosphere,” said Mbem-Bosse. “I have a great relationship with the coaches at Oklahoma and especially Coach (Tim) Kish, who is a great guy, and so are the other coaches. I like the players there, too, and they have great players at Oklahoma. The atmosphere blew me away and Oklahoma is a great place to play football and go to school.”
The 6'3", 232-pounder is ranked as the No. 17 inside linebacker and No. 481 prospect in the country.
Sooners offer four-star 2017 cornerback
Oklahoma offered four-star cornerback Trajan Bandy (Miami, FL) on Thursday, according to 247sports.
It's the 17th verbal offer Bandy has already received. Clemson is Bandy's leader at this time.
The 5'9", 180-pounder is ranked as the No. 21 cornerback and No. 266 overall prospect in the class of 207.
