The Oklahoma Sooners are putting together yet another strong recruiting class under Bob Stoops. However, the Sooners aren't done yet. They're making a strong push during the last month of recruiting as we heads towards National Signing Day on Wednesday, Feb. 3. Here's all the latest news and rumors you need to know for Oklahoma football recruiting.
Four-Star DE Down To Kansas And OU
Amani Bledsoe is a four-star DE and Tulsa World is reporting he's narrowed down his choice to either Oklahoma or Kansas. He's the No. 2 player from Kansas, but it expected to commit to the Sooners before Signing Day.
Valentin "Wanted To Be A Sooner"
Four-star offensive guard Johncarlo Valentin committed to Oklahoma earlier this week and 247Sports caught up with the newest Sooner.
"I have known for a while that I wanted to be a Sooner," Valentin told 247Spors. "I talked to a lot of coaches and I put all the pieces together and OU was a great fit for me. I was just looking at what I was going to be involved with at OU and it all just appeals to me. I know if I come in there early with the right attitude and if I am mentally and physical ready, and I am definitely going to be, then I am going to have a big part in what we are going to be doing next year."
The Sooners went all the way to Pennsylvania to land Valentin.
Four-Star DE Names Top Eight
Jonathan Kongbo is a four-star JUCO DE and is a former Tennessee commit. He revealed his top eight on Twitter Saturday, adding that he'll cut down his list shortly. In no particular order, the teams were Tennessee, Ole Miss, Alabama, USC, Oklahoma, Washington, Florida State and Oregon. The Ducks are currently the favorite to land him.
Where OU's Class Sits
The addition of Valentin puts the Sooners in the Top 25 of 247Sports rankings. They're only 29th in Rivals.com's, but 247Sports has them at No. 24. The Sooners have only 16 committed players, making this a fairly small class. Only four schools with that few recruits rank ahead of OU.
