The Oklahoma Sooners said all week that they were going to get their revenge for last year's loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes, and they got it in a big way.
Baker Mayfield threw for 386 yards and three touchdowns, guiding the Sooners to 28 second-half points in an impressive 31-16 win over Ohio State.
Both defenses dominated the first half as the two sides went into the locker room tied 3-3, but Oklahoma was able to turn the tide in the third quarter. After the Buckeyes took a 10-3 lead, Mayfield led the Sooners on a 28-3 run that turned the game.

Mayfield flourished on the big stage, but fellow Heisman candidate J.T. Barrett did not. The senior struggled mightily, throwing for 182 yards and an interception. He falls out of the Heisman race with his performance in this game.
Freshman running back J.K. Dobbins was the lone bright spot for Ohio State, rushing for 72 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.

Oklahoma did not have much success on the ground with just 108 yards as a team, but nine different receivers caught passes. Dimitri Flowers led all pass catchers with seven catches for 98 yards and a touchdown.
The Sooners return home to take on Tulane next weekend. Ohio State will try to get back on track Saturday against Army.
