Oklahoma Sooners starting quarterback Trevor Knight will sit out his third straight game with a neck injury when the team faces rival Oklahoma State in Bedlam on Saturday.
Per Kevin McGuire for NBC's College Football Talk, "head coach Bob Stoops announced the latest injury status for his starting quarterback Monday during a weekly coaches conference call."
Without Knight, the team will continue with Cody Thomas at the helm of the offense. According to The Daily Oklahoman, tight end Blake Bell will function as the team's emergency quarterback.
Thomas struggled mightily against Kansas this past Saturday, completing just three of his 13 pass attempts for 39 yards. The week before against Texas Tech, Thomas threw three interceptions while going 10-of-20 for 133 yards and a touchdown.
Trevor Knight was diagnosed with transient quadriplegia after the team's loss to Baylor. It is unclear as of this time whether or not Knight will be available for the team's bowl game.
