Oklahoma came into this game looking to rebound from a disappointing loss to Kansas State, and they took all of their frustrations out on Iowa State.
The Sooners dominated the Cyclones from the opening whistle, taking a 21-0 lead in the first quarter and extending that to a 35-7 lead at halftime.
Oklahoma added three more touchdowns in the third quarter for good measure, and cruised to the easy victory.
Turning Point: Really, this one was over from the opening whistle. On Oklahoma's second drive of the game, it looked like they had a touchdown, but it was overturned on replay. That forced a third down, but the Sooners promptly scored on the next play, setting the tone for the rest of the game.
Key Stat: Oklahoma had three players (Trevor Knight, Semaje Perine, and Alex Ross) rush for over 100 yards in this game, and totaled 510 on the ground as a team, showing how dominant they were this afternoon and how much they were able to control the game.
Oklahoma MVP: Sooners QB Trevor Knight only played for the first three quarters, but he still managed to put up amazing numbers. He completed 22/35 passes for 230 yards and three TDs while rushing for 146 yards and three more touchdowns on the ground.
Iowa State MVP: WR D'Vario Montgomery was the lone bright spot for the Cyclones today, catching three passes for 88 yards and a touchdown.
What’s Next? Oklahoma has a big matchup with Baylor at home next weekend, while Iowa State will look to snap a two-game losing streak at Kansas next Saturday.
