The Oklahoma City Thunder would not be denied in Game 5, hanging tough with the San Antonio Spurs before taking the lead and never looking back in the last two minutes of the game, winning 95-91.
Russell Westbrook had the dagger for OKC, converting a three-point play with just five ticks left in the game to put the Thunder up by four and effectively put the game out of reach. Westbrook finished the game with 35 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists, while Kevin Durant scored 23, pulled down six boards and dished out five dimes.
Tony Parker had a good look at a potential go-ahead bucket before Westbrook's and-1, but his midrange jumper with 11 seconds to go ticked off front-iron. Parker finished with just nine points, while Tim Duncan had another quiet game with just five points and three boards.
The Spurs were again led by Kawhi Leonard, who poured in 26 points, six rebounds, five steals and four assists. LaMarcus Aldridge and Danny Green -- who was 7-for-10 from beyond the arc -- added 20 apiece.
The Thunder will have a chance to close out the Spurs on their home floor in Game 6. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET from the Chesapeake Energy Arena.
