The Oklahoma City Thunder will have plenty of competition for the services of superstar Kevin Durant when he hits free agency next July, likely to include one of their rivals in the NBA Western Conference -- the Los Angeles Clippers.
Via NBA insider Chris Palmer:
Clippers will make a massive push for Kevin Durant next year. Mutual interest.

Durant will be connected to half the league or more by the time his free agency actually rolls around next year. Thus is the nature of a transcendent, generational player hitting the open market.
However, the Clippers could be a major threat given the likely wealth of cap space they'll have and their proximity to major endorsement opportunities in Los Angeles.
Regardless of the fact that Durant's 2015-16 season was truncated by ongoing foot issues, Durant will be the hottest name out there in 2016 and will benefit greatly from what will likely be a skyrocketed salary cap given the revenue from the league's new national television deal.
Stay tuned.
