The Dallas Mavericks put forth a good fight, but they ultimately couldn't stop the Oklahoma City Thunder from clinching the series with a 118-104 win in Game 5.
OKC game out of the gates on fire, building a 33-20 lead in the first quarter. They were able to keep the Mavs at bay for the first three quarters, but Dallas was able to cut the lead to three early in the fourth. However, that was as close as they got, as the Thunder were able to pull away late.
Russell Westbrook nearly put forth another triple double (36 points, 12 rebounds, nine assists) to lead the Thunder, while Kevin Durant also poured in 33 points. It's the ninth time they've both scored at least 30 points in a playoff game.
Dirk Nowitzki's 24 points led the way for the Mavs, who got a surprise 16 points from Dwight Powell off the bench. Nowitzki also achieved a major career milestone in this game despite the loss:

Oklahoma City now advances to take on the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Semifinals. Game 1 of that series is set to start on Saturday.
