With winning streak snapped, Thunder focused on defensive issues

WASHINGTON, D.C. — For two weeks, nobody could slow down the Thunder.

During an eight-game winning streak that came to a halt against the Wizards on Tuesday, Oklahoma City averaged 116.4 points per game, its offense an unstoppable force.

That masked the fact that lately, OKC's defense has been quite the movable object.

Over those five games, Oklahoma City allowed 112.8 points per game, worse than all but four NBA teams in the same eight-day span.

So after its 102-96 loss to Washington on Tuesday, Billy Donovan took some solace in the way his team guarded, even as it lost for the first time since Jan.
