As the Detroit Pistons continue the process of evaluating candidates for their open general manager position, they’re keeping two goals in mind.
One is to hire an experienced candidate. Pistons senior adviser Ed Stefanski has handled GM responsibilities since he was hired in 2018. Stefanski, along with vice chairman Arn Tellem and the rest of the front office, are looking for a GM who can step in and immediately help the organization navigate a rebuild.
The second goal is to prioritize diversity during the search. The Pistons, per a source, are placing importance on filling out the front office with people of diverse backgrounds.
