Chris Paul used the first question of his Saturday morning media availability to pivot away from basketball. The Thunder point guard instead dedicated his time in front of the camera to honor civil rights icons John Lewis and C.T. Vivian following their deaths Friday.
"Today is a sad day in that we lost two of the most powerful activists that we've ever had in C.T. Vivian and John Lewis," Paul said. "The impact that they had on America I think is unbelievable. And for me as a Black man, I think it's more important for me to do my job better as a parent.
