Tigers, Gleyber Torres reach 1-year, $15M deal, sources say

Free agent infielder Gleyber Torres is in agreement with the Detroit Tigers on a one-year, $15 million contract, sources familiar with the situation told ESPN.

Torres, 28, spent the first seven years of his career with the New York Yankees after being acquired in a trade with the Chicago Cubs in 2016. He has a career .774 OPS, playing both shortstop and second base for New York. He'll play second for Detroit as well, having spent the last four seasons at that position for the Yankees.
