The Spanish National Team left for the Olympic Games on Sunday. Among the players on the final 12-man roster is Alex Abrines.
The newly-signed Thunder guard will feature alongside NBA players such as Pau Gasol, Ricky Rubio, Jose Calderon and Nikola Mirotic for Spain in Rio, starting with Group B play against Croatia on Aug. 7 (5 p.m.)
"No competition is above this in importance," Abrines told feb.es, the official web site of the Spanish Basketball Federation. "It's a dream come true to be in Rio."
In his first game back with the National Team since signing with the Thunder on July 23, the 22-year-old had 11 points (3-of-9 shooting, 1-of-5 3-pointers) and three rebounds in 20 minutes in Spain's 100-61 blowout of the Ivory Coast.
