As a flurry of moves fired off in the final hour before the NBA’s trade deadline on Thursday, the Thunder was not a part of the action.
The 2 p.m. central deadline passed without the Thunder making a trade, meaning OKC will turn to the buyout market, hoping to sign a free agent to bolster its roster heading into the playoffs. Teams can sign free agent up to March 1 for them to be playoff eligible.
Last season, the Thunder signed free agent Corey Brewer after the trade deadline to a prorated veteran’s minimum. The Thunder can offer free agents the prorated veteran’s minimum or the taxpayer mid-level exception.
