Thunder turnaround seems unlikely

I don’t claim to be an expert in the five stages of grief. So I have no idea where the halfway point of a maddening NBA season falls.

Certainly not denial at the start nor acceptance at the end. Probably not depression, either. Not yet. So somewhere along anger and bargaining, though the Feb. 8 trade deadline offers little claim of help for the Thunder, which is stuck in mediocrity at the season’s halfway point.

The Thunder lost 117-106 at home to Portland on Tuesday night. The Thunder’s defense was atrocious again.

“We got outworked,” is how Josh Huestis began his explanation.
