Mitch McGary’s Thunder tenure is done. Semaj Christon’s is just getting started.
On Monday, the Thunder waived McGary, along with Ronnie Price, Kaleb Tarczewski and Chris Wright. Price was signed in August to a fully-guaranteed contract worth a reported $5 million over two seasons, but that was before Christon’s impressive preseason camp and Cameron Payne’s foot fracture.
The 23-year-old Christon impressed the Thunder with five games of steady play at point guard this preseason, averaging 7.0 points, 2.4 assists and 1.8 rebounds in 18.6 minutes per game.
