Taj Gibson said he wants to be in Oklahoma City. It remains to be seen if the free agent-to-be will get his wish.
If the 31-year-old ends up elsewhere, it won't be because he lacked effectiveness. When Gibson was acquired at the Feb. 23 trade deadline, the clock was immediately ticking on rookie Domantas Sabonis as the starter at power forward.
When Gibson finally got the nod as the starter alongside Steven Adams, the Thunder's best starting five in the post-Kevin Durant Era was solidified.
Now it's a matter of keeping the band together.
“As far as adjusting, as far as my minutes, as far as the team plays, my tempo, it was just completely different,” Gibson said of his trade from Chicago to Oklahoma City.
