Thunder: No surprise why Michael Jordan is inducting Russell Westbrook into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame

Ten years ago, Russell Westbrook was preparing for his freshman year at UCLA. That same summer, Michael Jordan was preparing to become an NBA owner.

Almost a decade later, the NBA would rule Jordan couldn't decide which NBA player could join his famous brand. By then, however, Westbrook was well on board, having signed with the Jordan Brand in 2012.

That year, he announced his new deal with a simple Twitter post: “I'm back and officially #TeamJordan.

“Ready to come fly with me?”

When Westbrook is inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame on Thursday, he'll have Jordan as his wingman.
