Thunder making strides toward correcting third-quarter defense

On Wednesday night, Steven Adams and Alex Abrines were a confused pair, leading to an uncontested Julius Randle dunk. It wasn't the first time the Lakers had a free run to the rim in a frustrating first half for the Thunder.

Adams was left mouthing expletives into the open space Randle just vacated. “What the f*** are we doing?,” Adams said — half-laughing but 100-percent serious about the confusion. The Lakers' offense was spraying points all over Chesapeake Energy Arena with little resistance.

After halftime, it was as if the Thunder shut off a open fire hydrant.
