Kevin Hervey dribbled down the left wing, shook Robin Lopez with a Euro step and finished a left-handed layup off the glass.
“I had missed so many shots,” Hervey said, “I knew I was going to shoot something at the basket.”
Hervey’s field goal Friday night cut a 51-point Bucks lead to 49 points with just over a minute left in what would become the biggest blowout in Thunder history.
While Thunder players and fans move on from the unsightly result, Hervey can remember that night in Milwaukee as one of personal achievement. And on a larger scale, a milestone night for the University of Texas-Arlington men’s basketball program.
