Thunder journal: Thunder shot contesting in focus as Golden State comes to OKC

NEW ORLEANS — The Thunder's defense was blitzed from the 3-point line by New Orleans on Thursday. The night before, Dallas wasn't on New Orleans' level, but the Mavericks still put together a 5-of-8 third quarter.

Clusters of 3-pointers allowed have hurt the Thunder in the last two road games. Before playing the Pelicans, Kevin Durant said there's no worry, but giving up 60 percent from 3 to New Orleans raised eyebrows again.

So should New Orleans' open shots on Thursday. Per SportsVU player tracking, the Pelicans had 23 made shots that could be categorized as “uncontested,” or field goals made when the shooter doesn't have a defender within 3½ feet of him.
