Steven Adams heard about the charity efforts of a New Zealand beauty queen with an interest in bringing basketball to kids in need. So, the Thunder center decided to pitch in.
Adams gathered up some Thunder teammates and coaches to meet with kids and families at the Ronald McDonald House in Auckland, New Zealand. The gathering was to support a charity auction which raised $16,000 toward building a new basketball court at the site. The Ronald McDonald House provides housing support for families with seriously ill children.
“It's amazing that she was able to fund raise that much money,” Adams told The New Zealand Herald, which first reported the story.
