Thunder journal: Hall of Fame finally in reach for Cheeks

SAN ANTONIO — The Final Four is in town, and on Saturday college basketball's showcase event will pause to honor some of the sport's all-time greats.

Maurice Cheeks, after a long wait, will be one of them.

The Thunder assistant coach — a former star point guard with the Philadelphia 76ers — will be among those inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in the Class of 2018, The Oklahoman confirmed Thursday. Cheeks' induction was first reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.”

The induction class will be formally announced here on Saturday and enshrined in September.
