Deonte Burton launched himself from outside of the restricted area, slamming down a one-handed dunk.
When he landed, Russell Westbrook patted him on the head for encouragement. It was one of several celebrations he had with Westbrook, and when asked what he felt in those moments, Burton said:
“You want the honest truth? I felt awkward. It felt really awkward. I didn't know whether to do what he was doing or to just run back. Still getting used to that.”
Burton, a two-way player, remained with the Thunder on Friday for a 109-104 win over the Hornets without shooting guards Terrance Ferguson and Hamidou Diallo (left ankle sprains).
