Thunder rookie Deonte Burton launched himself from outside of the restricted area, slamming down a one-handed dunk.
When he finally landed, Russell Westbrook patted him on the head in encouragement. Burton, a two-way player, remained with the Thunder on Friday for a 109-104 win over the Hornets without shooting guards Terrance Ferguson and Hamidou Diallo (left ankle sprains). Burton used his extended time with the Thunder to show off his athleticism in a series of high-flying dunks.
Burton's time on the court had waned in the previous three games, even with Ferguson gone for the birth of his daughter and then an ankle injury.
