Thunder journal: Anthony Grant to Dayton, won't finish season in OKC

Five days after the University of Dayton lost Archie Miller to Indiana, the Atlantic-10 Conference school hired one of its own.

The Thunder lost an assistant coach as a result.

Thunder assistant Anthony Grant was announced as the new head coach at Dayton on Thursday. Grant, who played at Dayton from 1983-87, was in town Thursday for the Thunder's team photo, but he won't be on the bench Friday as the Thunder plays the Spurs at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

Thunder coach Billy Donovan brought Grant on staff in the summer of 2015.
