NEW YORK — For the first time in almost a month, Alex Abrines sat on the Thunder bench in uniform Monday afternoon for the Thunder's 127-109 win over the Knicks.
Abrines was active Monday but did not play, after missing 13 straight games for what the team identified as illness and then personal reasons.
“My guess is these next two games, today and tomorrow (at home against Portland), he will be active but will not be in the rotation,” Thunder coach Billy Donovan said before Monday's game. “Wednesday's a day we can try to work with him and help him continue to move in a direction where he can get back to helping our team.
