The 8 p.m. start for Kansas at Oklahoma Tuesday gave Thunder forward Markieff Morris time to turn on the game after OKC's 131-120 loss at Minnesota.
As the former Jayhawk watched his alma mater, he knew what was at stake. Kansas had won 14 straight Big 12 regular season titles before losing to Oklahoma Tuesday night, mathematically eliminating the Jayhawks from title contention.
“They fought hard this year,” Morris told the Oklahoman. “They’re young, didn’t really have much experience. So you can’t really fault them. Ah, it’s tough.”
Morris remembers keeping track of the streak when he played for Kansas.
