The Thunder on Saturday exercised its third-year options on guard Cameron Payne and forward Josh Huestis, two days ahead of the deadline for picking up its team options on both players.
Neither player has appeared in Oklahoma City’s two games this season. Payne is recovering from an acute fracture to his fifth metatarsal, sustained in the team’s Blue-White Scrimmage. Last season Payne averaged five points, 1.9 assists and 1.5 rebounds. He will earn $2.2 million this season and $3.2 million next season.
Huestis played in five games last season, averaging 2.8 points and two rebounds per game.
