Thunder: Dion Waiters remembers brother, his own near-death experience on The Players' Tribune

The Players' Tribune has become a creative outlet for athletes wanting their voice heard in sports media. Thunder guard Dion Waiters is the latest on the list.

Waiters wrote a piece entitled "For My Brother" which was published Monday morning on the site. In the piece, Waiters describes how he first found out about the shooting death of his brother, 21-year-old Demetrius Pinckney, in Philadelphia, as well as the emotions he's felt since.

Death feels so familiar to me. By the time I was 16, I had lost three cousins and my best friend, Rhamik.
