Two weeks ago, Terrance Ferguson offered a scouting report on Melbourne United, the Thunder’s opponent in Sunday’s preseason game at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
Very physical, Ferguson said, from his experience last season in the NBL, the Australian basketball league United Calls home. Melbourne boasted “a few pieces,” he said.
“They have a solid team, but I don’t think they can compete against us,” Ferguson said then.
It turns out, they could.
It took a pair of blocks on the final possession from forward Josh Huestis for the Thunder to survive United on Sunday.
