The Thunder has reached the point in the season where victories aren’t all that important. Witness Tuesday night, when Billy Donovan rested Kevin Durant and Serge Ibaka, giving away a game the Thunder lost 88-82 at Detroit. No big deal. Rest is more important than record at this point, with the Thunder locked in at the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference.
But I assume the Thunder will win again this regular season, with seven games left. And when it does, Donovan will set a record: most wins by a rookie NBA coach who came straight from a college job.
