“Hami one more time,” the Alimoe Day Memorial Classic MC said as Hamidou Diallo dribbled down the court on a fast break.
In mid-air Diallo threaded the ball between his legs and threw down a right-handed windmill. The crowd, which had only been held outside the lines by will power, flooded onto the court.
“Yo Hami, that’s how you shut the park down?” the MC said.
That same jaw-dropping athleticism that shut down the 2016 Alimoe Day, an All-Star game for tri-state high school basketball players, earned Diallo a spot in the NBA dunk contest Saturday.
