CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Shai Gilgeoous-Alexander shuffled along the baseline, one arm extended straight up, as Hornets guard Devonte’ Graham tried to maneuver around him.
A layup by Graham would tie the game with less than a minute left in overtime. But Gilgeous-Alexander kept his feet on the ground and his arm outstretched. Graham’s shot missed.
A night after saying he hadn’t turned up the defensive intensity early enough, Gilgeous-Alexander made key defensive stops down the stretch of the Thunder’s 104-102 win at Charlotte Friday. OKC improved to 3-0 in overtime games.
“Just stops,” Gilgeous-Alexander said of what it took to pull out the win.
