Former Oklahoma City Thunder guard Thabo Sefolosha is out for the remainder of the season thanks to an injury he says was caused by New York City police.
Sefolosha suffered a fractured fibula while being arrested last week outside of 1Oak nightclub for obstructing government administration, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Video of the arrest shows multiple officers taking Sefolosha to the ground while Atlanta Hawks teammate Pero Antic sits curbside.
On the advice of his legal counsel, Sefolosha did not discuss the facts of his case, in which he and Antic are contesting charges.
"Those questions will be answered by my attorney in a court of law," Sefolosha said in a statement issued Tuesday.
