The old joke never stops being funny to Steven Adams.
As he’s done for years, Adams launched a series of high, arching 3-pointers after practice Monday. He needed to make one before he left the court.
“First try!” he yelled, finally swishing one after a dozen attempts.
The playful heaves aren’t the sort of shots Adams will take this season, but they’re at least a parody of what Adams’ offensive evolution might look like. Adams could join the wave of NBA big men who are testing their 3-point trait.
But only if the long-range attempts come within the flow of the offense — a Thunder offense that is once again stressing more ball movement.
