So far in Thunder preseason camp, the mentality has carried over in the 24-year-old's battle for the third point guard spot, likely the only one of 15 guaranteed contracts in question this preseason.

Christon’s $1.3 million for this season is non-guaranteed if he’s waived before Oct. 15. The Thunder brought in veteran guard Isaiah Canaan for camp, a career 35.2 percent 3-point shooter.

Playing for the White Team alongside most of the Thunder’s rotation players, Christon played with urgency. The 6-foot-3 guard unofficially had seven points and six rebounds, scoring all of his points in a flurry in the first half, including back-to-back buckets on drives in which he absorbed contact.
