Sam Presti had high hopes for Alex Abrines’s season. The Thunder general manager said he expected it to be a “breakout year.”
That was part of OKC’s problem.
“The spot on the roster to me that we didn't have redundancy and continued support was when we lost Alex,” Presti said in his end of season press conference Monday. “And that's on me.”
Abrines played just 31 games for the Thunder this season, shooting 32.3 percent from beyond the arc in that time. He missed 17 straight games, starting at Houston on Dec.
