Russell Westbrook's 20-20-20 night allows the Thunder to exhale

Russell Westbrook went stat-chasing Tuesday night and caught a big one: 20-20-20. Twenty points, 20 rebounds, 21 assists.

A doubled triple double. Hasn’t happened in the NBA since the ancient days, when giants walked the land. Playing for the Philadelphia 76ers, Wilt Chamberlain had 22 points, 25 rebounds and 21 assists against the Pistons on Feb. 2, 1968. When you stand on a mountain with only Wilt as a running buddy, you’ve again scaled quite the peak.

Just when Westbrook has made the remarkable seem mundane – averaging a triple double for the third straight year – he produces another monumental achievement that reminds us we’re watching history.
