If there was ever a player made for the All-Star game, it was Russell Westbrook.
Russ is a gunner at heart, and has no problem jacking up as many shots as he can. He has no off-switch and is in constant attack mode, even during a game where most participants are giving 50 percent effort at best. Nobody wants to get hurt in an All-Star game, so when Russ comes barreling down the lane, guys just get out of the way.
Westbrook is just not wired that way. For those of you who don’t remember, Russ put up 41 points on 16-of-28 shooting (including 5-of-9 from 3-point range) along with five rebounds in 25 minutes en route to winning the MVP during last year’s All-Star game in Brooklyn.
