Russell Westbrook will make his season debut Sunday against Sacramento in the Thunder’s home opener. Thunder coach Billy Donovan announced before Sunday’s game that Westbrook would start alongside Terrance Ferguson, Paul George, Patrick Patterson and Steven Adams, and would not be on a minutes restriction.
Westbrook had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Sept. 12.
The 2016-17 Most Valuable Player ramped up his workouts on the Thunder’s 0-2 road trip against Golden State and the L.A. Clippers, but had not been cleared for full contact until the Thunder returned to Oklahoma City on Saturday.
