Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry was announced as the NBA's Most Valuable Player on Tuesday, the first unanimous winner in the 61-year history of the award.
Curry received all 131 first-place votes (1,310 points) from the panel of sportswriters and broadcasters nationwide. San Antonio's Kawhi Leonard was a distant second with 634 points. Cleveland's LeBron James was third (631).
Thunder guard Russell Westbrook was fourth in the voting with 486 points and Kevin Durant placed fifth (147 points). Westbrook received 29 second-place votes to Durant's two.
Curry is only the fourth guard in NBA history to win back-to-back MVP awards, joining Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan and Steve Nash.
