Free agency doesn’t officially open until 12:01 a.m. Eastern on July 1, but the scene is already being set for the courtship of Kevin Durant.
The Thunder, Golden State and San Antonio are among the first three teams reportedly to land recruiting meetings with Durant,according to ESPN’s Marc Stein.
The Warriors and Spurs are planning respective pitches including Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson for Golden State and Gregg Popovich and Tim Duncan for San Antonio, per ESPN sources. The Golden State and San Antonio contingents will reportedly fly to an undisclosed location for the meetings once the free agency period has started.
