Second-year Thunder guard Alex Abrines is reportedly out for the rest of Spain’s FIBA EuroBasket campaign after suffering an injury last week in the team’s opener.
Abrines, 23, hadn’t played since Spain’s opening game against Montenegro on Sept. 2. In that game, Abrines appeared to take a hit to his lower leg.
Spanish publication Marca reported Thursday that the Thunder and the Spanish Basketball Federation have come to an agreement that Abrines will not play the remainder of the tournament.
Abrines has missed Spain’s last four games of the tournament, and did not dress for the final Group C game against Hungary on Thursday.
