You often hear announcers say ‘it’s a game of runs” or coaches overheard stating we just need to withstand their run and we’ll be fine. That was the case in the highly entertaining Christmas Day game between the OKC Thunder and Houston Rockets.
Russell Westbrook and the Thunder defense ruled the first half withstanding a run by James Harden and the Rockets to take an eight point lead into the half.
That in itself was an accomplishment particularly with Paul George uncharacteristically cold from the field early. PG has been so hot lately it almost felt odd for his shot not to be falling.
