Perry Jones and the Week he Carried the Thunder on his Back

Tuesday afternoon, news broke that 6’11” forward Perry Jones (formerly of Baylor University and the Oklahoma City Thunder), Detroit’s 2019 second round pick, and cash were sent to Boston in exchange for a $2.1 million trade exception and a 2018 second rounder. It was a largely expected move that cleared up a roster spot (now it’s your turn, Josh Huestis) and provided some cap relief after finalizing Enes Kanter’s contract.

It was a bit of a heartbreaking deal for many Thunder fans, coming just a few weeks after fellow “Bench Mob” captain Jeremy Lamb was shipped off to Charlotte.
